Every year the G.I.C. organizer has the unenviable task of choosing the selected highlights of their country to show our International delegates in a short tour during the conference. Dispite the many wondrous features of the UK -from London to Edinburgh - there has never been any doubt in our mind that some of the most beautiful aspects of our country relate to its spiritual traditions - the Isle of Avalon at Glastonbury Tor - reputed to be the geographic home of King Arthur - Stonehenge and the even more impressive Avebury stone circles. |

‘The Grail Journey Through Wales’ by Megan Wingfield
An Extract from the book
These are places where the ghosts of communities linger on in the ether, taking eternal possession of the landscape, giving a purpose to modern pilgrims. You might like to visit some old churches around you, remembering that they were built on ancient sacred sites. You might want to go on a Celtic pilgrimage to Brittany, Wales, Scotland or Ireland. You may want to create a sacred place in your own garden. All you need is a sense of respect, and to ask the guardian for permission to enter, remembering that it is a holy place. You may honour it in whatever way feels right to you: singing, dancing, saying prayers or leaving biodegradable gifts for the elementals. You may both give and receive healing. Be aware that if you are visiting an Earth chakra, it will affect your own corresponding chakra also, so do take care to allow for this. If you can do this, you will be performing a service to this sacred land. Bless the Earth and ask for a blessing on yourselves also.” From The Grail Journey Through Wales © 2007 by Megan Wingfield, published by Athena Press. Megan Wingfield is a native of mid Wales and has moved house many times up and down the Welsh border from Ross-on-Wye in the South to Prestatyn in the North. She has a son and daughter, and now lives with her husband in North Powys. A teacher who has trained in both healing and colour therapy, Megan considers herself primarily to be an artist. It was through painting that she found herself to posses the ability to tune in to spiritual realms. Her first book, Light is the Rainbow Edge came from pictures received in meditation and the spiritual guidance which accompanied them. It is a ‘thought for the day’ book, useful for divination. Megan’s attunement gives her the ability to ‘read’ the energy from sacred sites, translate it into pictures and take dictation from spiritual beings. This has led her and her friends and family on an odyssey which was both a physical pathway and a Grail journey. This is ongoing and her latest book, The Grail Journey Through Wales, is her discovery of a pathway of the Beloved, Merlin’s Way, and energy line stretching from the Scilly Isles though Wales to Whitby, Yorkshire.
