At the Global Inspiration Conference 2008 we are offering a Hot Tub facility for two days, and experienced trainers such as Christina Artemis, Gerd & Aimee Lange and Leonardo Estrada Mendez will be offering group sessions to participants. Profound healing can occur when a breathwork session takes place in a hot tub. It is a breathing experience which is recommended for people who have some 'dry' session experience. Hot tub breathing sometimes reactivates birth or womb recollection for the purpose of healing. It can be a valuable opportunity to connect with the support of other people and surrender to a deep level of gentle nurturing whilst suspended in the water. It is the original form of Rebirthing as devised by Leonard Orr in the 1970's. Numbers are limited. Registration for the hot tub is at the conference, and information on what to bring is included in the welcome letter.
The Sweat Lodge is a traditional native ceremony that is still in practice amongst various North American Indian tribal nations. The practice of sweating has historically been performed amongst many cultures, including in Europe, but the ceremonies and ritual practices have been forgotten and disappeared with time. The GIC offers an opportunity to take part in this ritual with experienced facilitators Mike and Tilly Chirobokow. The Lodge is similar to a sauna in that there is heat and moisture - that's where the similarities stop, and the uniqueness and the benefits of the Lodge begin. An atmosphere is created which is often referred to as 'being in the womb of Mother Earth'; it is a place of safety, giving, sharing, receiving, releasing, cleansing and healing. Done with ceremony and ritual, it becomes a place where we connect with ourselves, each other and Mother Earth. Through this contact we come to a better understanding of our place in the Universe, our relationship to all things. It is a place of awareness, of re-energizing, of re-focusing and a multitude of other dynamics experienced individually and collectively. Through a combination of silence, singing, drumming, praying, and sharing from the heart, Sweat Lodges become the other heart of a community. The Sweat Lodge experience is a truly holistic experience. Entering into the lodge with an open mind, the individual is then prepared for cleansing of negative emotions, healing of physical ailments, clearing of mental concerns and releasing of spiritual blockages. Specifics of what to bring, what to wear and more information on the Sweat Lodge is included in the following downloads from the organisers Mike and Tilly Chirobokow. Timings are approximate, and spaces are limited. Admittance is at the discretion of the facilitators.
